We had an ok breakfast at Heron (the food is standard motel style buffet), then went to get fitted out with our snorkeling gear (including an hysterical attempt at trying on short wetsuits in cubicles with about 40 degree celsius heat, not conducive to pulling on rubber....we ended up giggling too much and I managed to fall out of the cubicle and was hopping madly on one leg round the shop, to the amusement of everyone in there). The snorkeling gear is provided free for the Wilson Island people.

We then went for a morning snorkeling on Heron, and at 2pm, boarded the Gatcombe for the 40 minute boat ride to Wilson. The host couple (he was the chef , she was in charge of keeping us happy and busy, and housekeeping) had gone out first thing in the morning to get ready for us.
